Last week our focus was on connecting to our bodies and honoring our stories. We meditated on 1 Corinthians 12:24-26
“But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored every part rejoices with it.”
We were created for wholeness and when one part of our the body suffers every part suffers. When we hurt physically, mentally, or emotionally we feel it through our entire being. In the same way when we feel joyful, that joy radiates outward and often other people can sense that joy from within us.
Part of being whole is acknowledging every part of our story. All the parts that make us who we are, even the parts we wish we could ignore. As we begin to face the painful pieces of our stories, slowly with time we can find healing.
The other part of wholeness is being in community and connecting with others. This week we will meditate on the same scripture but we will focus on vs. 27 which states,
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."
We were created for wholeness, to be connected to ourselves, and also be connected with others. This week take a moment to ask yourself what does my community look like? Who are the people you are connected with? What do you desire in community?
